Hi guys!
As some of you may have noticed I've let this account sit on the back-burner for quite a while and I eventually ended up hiding all of my gallery content here. While I've been active on other places around the internet I haven't felt much of a need to continue posting art here because I don't really have much to show for the last couple of years. I've become very invested in the Japanese street fashion community and I've been spending a lot of my time focused more on fashion and less on art as I try to figure out what I want to do with it going forward. A few years ago, I hit a couple of hard learning curves that made me step back to take a look at whether or not I wanted to continue trying to make money with my art, which is something I think we all struggle with to some degree. For a time, I thought that keeping my art as a side-hobby would make me happier overall because of the freedom of expression that comes with it, but honestly that hasn't been the case because I've found myself feeling very unsatisfied in any other work that I do. Everything else feels both temporary and auxiliary if my art is not connected to it, and I'm tired of feeling this way. After gaining a lot of confidence as my local anime convention's primary graphic artist I have decided that I'd like to try to reenter the Artist Alley circuit next con season and that I would also begin pursuing graphic art as a career once again. As a result, I felt the need to start a fresh body of work that best reflects my current skill level, which was going to be difficult and a little bit stressful to do on an 8-year-old account. I'd love to become more active here again and catch up with the community, so if anyone here would like to join me as I move forward my new account is here

Also, if you'd like to see any of my old work, feel free to drop me a line and let me know! I still have copies of everything, they're just not here anymore. <3

All my best,
Sara

Hey guys! Long time no see!
Thank you all so much for the kind comments on my deviations, as well as the birthday wishes!

I've update my gallery with all of the work I've done up to this point, though I haven't done a lot of drawing since I started going back to school lol
I promise in the future I'll try to do a better job of keeping you guys updated here! ;w; However, if any of you have blogs on tumblr that I don't already follow I'd love it if you linked them to me here! ♥ Hope you all are doing well!

I'm sorry I've been so quiet here, it's been almost six months since my last journal!

If you have a Tumblr and would like to keep up with me there, there's a link at the top of this journal. I update there a little bit more frequently (though still not as much as I'd like, haha.) I've been swamped with work like always, but I don't think many of you know that I got a new job earlier this year. <: I now work for a mobile app and game development company as an artist full time and I couldn't be happier! It's a really nice change of pace from aquarium retail, but I'm always going to love fish and other pets. <3 Since I've started working with Fat Dog Mobile I've gotten to work with some really awesome companies like Sanrio (which is a dream come true for me), and I h ope I get to share some of my work with you guys really soon!

In the mean time I'll still continue to do as much personal work as I can and share it with you guys here and on Tumblr! Hopefully soon I will be at a point where I can start doing artist alleys at conventions again, I've got a lot more business experience than I did when I first started selling at cons and I'd like to put that to use <3

I will be going to A-Kon 24 this year as a general attendee (which will be the first time I've gotten to do that since 2009, haha), so if you're going please let me know! We can high-five when we run into each other! Now I'm off to answer the mountain of comments I've let pile up ,_,

Hey guys!
I will still be on hiatus for another couple of weeks. I wasn't expecting this project to last quite this long, but soon I will be free to tell you all about it and I'll be back to drawing regularly again! But in the meantime, I wanted to let you guys know that I still plan on keeping up my tradition of sending out holiday cards to my DeviantART watchers! I have done this for the past two years now and I really enjoy it; basically, for those of you who have +Watched me in the past year, if you are comfortable giving me your mailing address I will send you a cute card in the mail completely free of charge! Here are the two cards I sent out last year and the year before:

I'm going to have to change a couple of things about the process this year because it's taken me so long to get on the ball with this. I wondered if I should even send a card at all this year because I am personally so strapped for time and money, but I know this is something that makes you guys happy and I really don't say thank you enough for all of the support you guys give me...so cards definitely needed to happen! Since it's already so late into the holiday season, the cards should be hitting your mailboxes at the beginning of 2013. The last two cards are definitely more Christmasy (though I tried not to alienate anybody who doesn't celebrate Christmas), but this year the cards will focus on celebrating the new year! <3 And yes, I will send cards internationally! I sent cards to over 20 countries last year (how cool is that?!), but be forewarned that it will probably take longer for you to receive your cards if you do not live in the US (a friend of mine in Spain received his 2010 card in June of 2011, LOL. )

----

SO HERE'S WHAT I NEED FROM YOU (please use this form when emailing me):

Your DeviantART Username:
Your name as it would appear on the envelope: (Not completely necessary, but if you would rather me write a nickname or something here instead that's okay too!!)
Your mailing address: (please type it exactly like it would be written on the envelope!)

Any extra information you think I might need: (If you can't think of anything to put here just tell me what color shirt you're wearing or something. *v* )

PLEASE SEND THIS INFORMATION TO: DeliciousChristmas@hotmail.com!! (There is also a PayPal account set up at this email address if you're feeling generous and would like to help donate, but it's not necessary! )
----

IT WOULD BE EXTREMELY HELPFUL TO ME IF YOU LIVE OUTSIDE OF THE U.S. AND YOU LET ME KNOW HOW MUCH IT WILL COST TO MAIL A LETTER-SIZED ENVELOPE TO YOUR COUNTRY. THIS IS NOT NECESSARY FOR RECEIVING A CARD BUT IT WILL GREATLY REDUCE THE TIME IT TAKES ME TO GET THEM ALL MAILED OUT!

You can use this calculator to calculate the postage, just follow these steps:
1. Select your country as the destination
2. Select "Letter" from the size options (second box below the flat-rate options)
3. Enter 1 ounce for the weight
4. Select "Letter" again on the next page
5. Boom! There's the postage cost!
If the site gives you multiple postage options you can just give me the URL and I will chose one. :3

PHEW, I THINK THAT'S EVERYTHING.
Here are my journals from last year and the year before if you'd like to read them:
shinjukou.deviantart.com/journ…  - shinjukou.deviantart.com/journ…

OH YEAH, YOU HAVE UNTIL DECEMBER 20TH TO REQUEST A CARD.
If you have any other questions feel free to comment, but emailing me at DeliciousChristmas@hotmail.com might prompt a faster response!

Thanks guys! Talk to you soon!
